چکیده

The paper explores N-hop FSO communications assisted by amplify-and-forward relays (AFRs) over N-gamma-gamma (N-gg) turbulence induced (TI) fading channels. We model TI signal as the product of independent but not necessarily identically distributed (i.n.i.d) N number gg random processes (RPs) in order to address AFR moderate strong conditions. closed form statistical measures such as: probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution (CDF), average level crossing rate (LCR) and fade duration (AFD) approximated general Laplace integration formula (LIF) exponential LIF are derived. CDF AFD derived expressions terms finite sums valid only for an integer value parameter related small-scale atmospheric cells first link system. numerical examples conditions well various hops proposed systems presented discussed. Moreover, approximate results compared with evaluated from exact integral observed system parameters.

On the Capacity of FSO Links over Gamma-Gamma Atmospheric Turbulence Channels Using OOK Signaling

A new upper bound on the capacity of powerand bandwidth-constrained optical wireless links over gamma-gamma atmospheric turbulence channels with intensity modulation and direct detection is derived when on-off keying (OOK) formats are used. In this free-space optical (FSO) scenario, unlike previous capacity bounds derived from the classic capacity of the well-known additive white Gaussian noise...

Second-order statistics of SC macrodiversity system operating over Gamma shadowed Nakagami-m fading channels

This paper derives the second-order statistics of SC (selection combining) macrodiversity operating over the Gamma shadowed Nakagami-m fading channels. Macrodiversity system of SC type consists of two microdiversity systems and selection (switching) is based on their output signal power values. Each microdiversity system is of MRC (maximal ratio combining) type with arbitrary number of branches...

Second-order statistics of selection macro-diversity system operating over Gamma shadowed κ-μ fading channels

In this article, infinite-series expressions for the second-order statistical measures of a macro-diversity structure operating over the Gamma shadowed -μ fading channels are provided. We have focused on MRC (maximal ratio combining) combining at each base station (micro-diversity), and selection combining (SC), based on output signal power values, between base stations (macro-diversity). Some ...

Serial relaying communications over generalized-gamma fading channels

In this paper, a study on the end-to-end performance of multi-hop non-regenerative relaying networks over independent generalized-gamma (GG) fading channels is presented. Using an upper bound for the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), novel closed-form expressions for the probability density function, the moments, and the moments-generating function of the end-to-end SNR are presented. Bas...

Second-order statistics of dual SC macrodiversity system over channels affected by Nakagami-m fading and correlated gamma shadowing

This paper considers second-order statistics of wireless communication system with microand macrodiversity reception in correlated gamma shadowed Nakagami-m fading channels. Macrolevel is of selection combining (SC) type and consists of two base stations (dual diversity) while N-branch receiver employing maximal ratio combining (MRC) is implemented on microlevel. Level crossing rate (LCR) and a...
